About Paul

My passion for expressive images is revealed in my documentary photographs. These portfolios reflect my deep connection with Vietnam, the American War in Vietnam, and the monastics who are part of the Buddhist community known as Plum Village.

My photographs appear regularly in the Mindfulness Bell, a publication of Plum Village, and  Article 25, a  street newspaper that takes its name from Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

My photographic journey started when I purchased my first 35 mm camera at age 19 while I was serving in Vietnam as a U.S. Marine. Upon returning to Vietnam in 2003, I reconnected with my love for photography.

Although I live in Cincinnati, I am available for assignment work in other parts of the Midwest and beyond. I have traveled to Asia eight times and I am very familiar with Vietnam. I have a large library of photos associated with Plum Village, Buddhism, and Vietnam. More photos can be viewed on my Flickr site at http://www.flickr.com/photos/touchingpeacephoto/
